Grímsvötn subglacial lake is draining

According to the University of Iceland, water is draining from the Grímsvötn subglacial lake. The ice shelf has subsided approx. 5 m. There are no signs of changes in the river Gígjukvísl at the moment. The flood is expected to be of similar size as floods in recent years, and it should create no disruption.
