Around 540 earthquakes were detected by IMO's seismic network this week, similar to the previous week. More activity occurred off the northern coast, Reykjanes peninsula and in the south this week compared to the previous week, but less activity occurred in Bárðarbunga, Öræfajökull and Katla. The largest earthquake of the week was M3.8 in Askja at 21:10 on 14 March and was the start of an earthquake swarm in Askja. Five earthquakes occurred in Hekla this week.
